Profile
While studying at Hiroshima City University, Nagano Sakurako has been creating animations that seem to be a memoir of her own experiences. In recent years, she has been working on installation works using animation in order to explore the relationship between the body and visual images. Nagano is also interested in feelings of alienation and loneliness amid behavioral restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and what happens in the lives of various people in spite of unprecedented circumstances.
In this residency, she plans to produce a documentary animation that focuses on people who have been isolated from society due to the effects of the new coronavirus. In addition, a stop motion animation production workshop using smartphones will be held during her residency.
