Born 1977 in Mongolia. A name to watch, Baasanjav is known for his works that depict modern themes using traditional Mongolian styles.

Overview

Using a traditional Mongolian style of painting, Baasanjav painted 13 works depicting people, everyday life and scenes from Fukuoka and Mongolia.

Regional activities

October 19 – Hakata Riverain Lantern Festival, held concurrently with the 19th Hakata Lantern Festival (Hakata Riverain Festa Plaza)
Baasanjiv created drawings on the ground at Hakata Riverain’s Festa Plaza, depicting Mongolian scenes and cultural items including gers, camels, horsehead harps and horseback riders. His sketches were then illuminated with thousands of lanterns.
