The fifth exhibition of "Arts and people" series focused on "Jian zhi" or the paper-cutout in China. Instead merely introducing its subjects, forms, and techniques, this exhibition delves deeper into the secret of the Jian zhi by focusing on the people's livelihood and the women, who created the paper-cutouts in the Huangtu Plateau, as well as provide much insight into a "field work" on the people's life and exchanged between researchers and the locals. 160 pages B/W and color plates, with supplement booklet of cutout

Paubha Painting in Nepal

Paubha is a painting that depicts Buddhist and Hindu gods and mandala produced by artists of the Newar, the indigenous people in Nepal. This exhibition presented the world of contemporary Paubha paintings with 51 works by 31 artists. The artists attempt to create a new kind of Paubha painting by adopting other methods such as Western chiaroscuro and oil technique.
