Since the 1990s, contemporary Asian art has become more visible as one of the mainstreams in the global art scene. This exhibition combines works from the collection by Miyatsu Daisuke, known as one of the top art collectors in Japan, and those from Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, presenting artworks by 45 participating artists from East and Southeast Asia. The exhibition catalog includes texts and images for all of the exhibited works, the collector Miyatsu Daisuke's opening essay, the assigned museum curators' essays, a list of works, etc.

In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, this large-scale collection exhibition provides an overview of 100 years of modern and contemporary Asian art, introducing each region's cultural characteristics, trends, and influences that are common to all of them. In addition to the assigned curator's opening essay, this volume contains nine columns by the museum's curators and 28 commentaries on art genres. It also includes a chronology of the museum's history, collection analysis, a timeline of Asian art, a list of works, etc.

This exhibition focuses on woodcuts (woodcut prints), which has played an essential role in Asia's modernization and is the first attempt to see woodcuts as a media calling for solidarity among people participating in political and social movements in various parts of Asia.

This exhibition is the first of its kind to introduce the modernity of arts in Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Northeast China (former Manchuria) in the first half of the 20th Century in the leveling context of "Kantan" or a government sponsored art competition.

The exhibition focused on a new trend of contemporary Chinese art inspired by traditional Chinese paintings and showed works created by 19 emerging and mid-career artists.

Enthralled with India: such were the artists whose works were featured, and the collectors whose archive pieces were shown at this exhibition. Along with the essay on the history of the formation of visual images of India during the postwar era in Japan, the catalogue includes the passionate commentary of each collector on his/her collection and extra essays on Indian curry, films, and Indian goods shops in Japan. 128 pages, 112 color plates. This was the exhibition commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Municipal Partnership between Fukuoka and Busan as well as their Friendship Year. The exhibition presented 76 works selected from 1800 works of the Busan Museum of Art collection, surveying Korean art from the 1940s to the present. The catalogue also includes history of art exchange between Fukuoka and Busan. The 128 page catalogue includes 96 color plates.

This exhibition presented 81 works selected from 500 award-winning works of the 11th Chinese National Art Exhibition in 2009, held every five years in China. The 120 page catalogue includes 90 color plates.

80 representative pieces by Chen Chin - a Taiwanese woman painter who worked between Japan and Taiwan under the Japanese occupation - are introduced. The exhibition also investigated Taiwanese paintings which opened up a new territory in the 20th century.

95 selected items from the National Exhibition in China are displayed in the exhibition. The National Exhibition in China is held every 5 years and this is the 10th exhibition of it.

50 years of turbulent years in Vietnamese modern art history is comprehensively introduced through 90 pieces of artworks. It was the first exhibition made in Japan about the theme. The collections of oil, silk and lacquer paintings and prints from the National Gallery of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh Fine Arts Museum, Ministry of Information and Culture in Vietnam and the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum are introduced in the catalogue.

Untold Chinese modern art is presented through the exhibition of different visual languages loved by the Westerners and Chinese public in Canton and Shanhgai in the 19th and 20th century.

The exhibition was organized and curated by the Singapore Art Museum. Diverse and energetic art by 15 artists from 10 ASEAN countries were presented.
