EMOTIONAL ASIA: Miyatsu Daisuke Collection x Fukuoka Asian Art Museum
Year:2022Since the 1990s, contemporary Asian art has become more visible as one of the mainstreams in the global art scene. This exhibition combines works from the collection by Miyatsu Daisuke, known as one of the top art collectors in Japan, and those from Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, presenting artworks by 45 participating artists from East and Southeast Asia. The exhibition catalog includes texts and images for all of the exhibited works, the collector Miyatsu Daisuke's opening essay, the assigned museum curators' essays, a list of works, etc.

Fukuoka Asian Art Museum 20th Anniversary Exhibition: Journey through Asian Art
Year:2019In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, this large-scale collection exhibition provides an overview of 100 years of modern and contemporary Asian art, introducing each region's cultural characteristics, trends, and influences that are common to all of them. In addition to the assigned curator's opening essay, this volume contains nine columns by the museum's curators and 28 commentaries on art genres. It also includes a chronology of the museum's history, collection analysis, a timeline of Asian art, a list of works, etc.

Blaze Carved in Darkness: Woodcut Movements in Asia 1930s-2010s
Year:2019This exhibition focuses on woodcuts (woodcut prints), which has played an essential role in Asia's modernization and is the first attempt to see woodcuts as a media calling for solidarity among people participating in political and social movements in various parts of Asia.
The exhibition catalog includes 20 articles by researchers at home and abroad, a chronological table, artists' epitome, a list of works, and a reference list.

Toward the Modernity: Images of Self & Other in East Asian Art Competitions
Year:2014This exhibition is the first of its kind to introduce the modernity of arts in Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Northeast China (former Manchuria) in the first half of the 20th Century in the leveling context of "Kantan" or a government sponsored art competition.

Modern and Contemporary Art from the Collection of the Busan Museum of Art: Korean Waves

This was the exhibition commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Municipal Partnership between Fukuoka and Busan as well as their Friendship Year. The exhibition presented 76 works selected from 1800 works of the Busan Museum of Art collection, surveying Korean art from the 1940s to the present. The catalogue also includes history of art exchange between Fukuoka and Busan. The 128 page catalogue includes 96 color plates.

Art toward the Society: Realism in Korean Art 1945-2005
