Modern and Contemporary Asian Art: From the Dawn Age to the Present Day

Fukuoka Asian Art Museum holds approximately 4,500 works of modern and contemporary Asian art (as of April 2002), making it one of the largest art collections in the world focused on this period and region.

The exhibition showcases Asian art, from paintings of the 19th century created during the time of exchange between western countries to contemporary artworks of the 1970s through the 2000s after the establishment of art school systems in the early 20th century.
