Beautiful Myanmar

This exhibition which aims to introduce contemporary art in Myanmar, was curated and organized by Ye Myat Aung (Myanmar), the invited researcher in residence for 2002.

It features 39 works including oil paintings and watercolors made by six contemporary artists based in Mandalay. Visitors will get a glimpse of various art movements in contemporary Myanmar through the landscapes of local nature and temples, beautiful portraits of women, and abstract paintings incorporating materials such as strings or sand.
