Women’s Hands
- Period
- Jan 2, 2004 〜 Mar 30, 2004
- Venue
Asia Gallery A
The techniques that were used to be regarded as women’s handiworks are now recognised as folk art and sometimes derived into contemporary art. Through the works by Yin Xiuzhen (China), Pinaree Sanpitak (Thailand), both of whom use sewing, Mithila Paintings (India), and Kantha (embroidery made in Bangladesh), the exhibition introduces how women’s handiworks become art (visual art).
