Summer Holiday at FAAM
―Popping Colors! Red, Blue, and Yellow!
- Period
- Jul 4, 2013 〜 Oct 15, 2013
- Venue
Asia Gallery B
Like the deep blue sea, the shining yellow sun, new green leaves, and multicolored flowers, our world is awash with color. All these colors are as if gifted from our Mother Earth. Surrounded by these, our ancestors might have developed an aspiration to play with these wonderful colors from the nature more freely.
Owing the trials and errors of our forerunners, such as trying to extract colors from natural materials, blending them, or sometimes putting them in chemical reaction, now we can create any kind of colors for our favor and enjoy using them.
This exhibition explores the wonderful world of color, bringing visitors face to face with the subject in four separate rooms, starting from the Room of Multicolor, followed by the Red Room, the Blue Room and finally the Yellow Room. Everyone knows all colors displayed in the exhibition, but the way color is perceived, felt and employed varies between people, often depending on cultural, historical and individual qualities. With an eye on these colors, we hope this exhibition provides us a chance to rethink about one of the fundaments of fine art. And just try to feel the passions of artists coming through these colors and you may encounter with the deep insight of each artwork.
