“Artist in Residence” is a residential program for artists to allow them to stay at one place for a period of time to engage in art-making and workshops. Fukuoka Asian Art Museum has been conducting this “Artist in Residence Program” for Asian artists since 1999 on a continuous basis. This year we celebrated the sixth anniversary of the program.
In this second residency period of 2004, we have hosted Moon Kyungwon (Korea), for three months from September. The artist worked together with citizens to make drawings of landscapes and images in Fukuoka, which became a creative inspiration for her animation work.
We are pleased to share the outcome of the artist’s activities in Fukuoka.
