The financial crisis started in the USA, and the inauguration of Obama as the new president, the year 2009 began with nervousness and anticipation against the USA. As the world reconsiders the USA’s place in the global context, the show aims to explore the significance of America in Asian Art through works that incorporate symbolic motifs of America, such as Coke or dollar bills, as well as those by artists of Asian descent who migrated to the USA.
