[Meet the Artist] Gathering with Cambodian food

Fukuoka Asian Art Museum is hosting a gathering to share Cambodian food and culture as a part of research by our resident artist, Lim Sokchanlina (Cambodia). Please come to enjoy Cambodian meal prepared by Ms Ikeda Sros, who runs a Cambodian restaurant in Fukuoka and learn about the Lina’s project and the Cambodian food and culture.

Lecturer

Lim Sokchanlina http://www.limsokchanlina.com/
Born and lives in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Lim’s work engages with social issues in Cambodia including his photographic works recently exhibited in Sunshower exhibition (2017) featuring the houses split due to the construction of state road. In Fukuoka, Lim has been researching the Cambodian migrant workers for his up-coming work.

Ikeda Sros
Born in Siem Reap, Cambodia and currently lives in Fukuoka. Ikeda arrived in Japan in 2003 and started her Cambodian restaurant, Siem Reap in Fukuoka in 2010. The current restaurant in Yoshizuka uses former sento (public bath) building. She also serves as the president of United Cambodian-Japan Association.
