We are delighted to announce the beginning of the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum’s Artist in Residence Program 2026!
Hằng Hằng (Vietnam), Amshad Sunuwar (Nepal), and Ian Tee (Singapore) are invited to join its first period from July to October, for approximately three months. In this kick-off talk, we hope to learn about their previous works and interests, as well as their current plans in Fukuoka. We look forward to welcoming you all!

Lecturer

■Hằng Hằng
Born in 1995. Based in Hanoi and Paris. Her work has been featured in Setouchi Triennale 2025. Through observations of people’s lives and landscape in Fukuoka, she wishes to explore how sacredness and belief arise through relations with daily performance and nature.

■Amshad Sunuwar
Born in 1993. Based in Kathmandu. His works have been presented in the Himalayan Art Festival 2025. By tracing textures of various locations, he hopes to visualize memories and stories of individuals and communities in Fukuoka.

■Ian Tee
Born in 1994. Based in Singapore. Winner of the UOB Painting of the Year (Singapore) Award. In Fukuoka, he hopes to explore the legacy of World WarⅡand how its memories are inherited through practicing plein-air with local people.
