Leang Seckon

Leang Seckon, while making paintings through collage, is continuing The Rubbish Project, a work from 2006 that considers environmental problems. For this project, he organized workshops to make lampshades using waste materials such as snack wrappers and empty cans, as well as The Recycled Fashion Show that featured artists from various genres. Further, in 2008 as a message to polluted rivers, she made a 225m-long Naga serpent from materials such as rattan and plastic, and installed it on the surface of a river. This work, which lots of artists, students and local residents participated in, added to The Rubbish Project the further aspect of building a relationship between art and the community.
