Due to the restriction on new entry of foreign nations caused by the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s artist in residence program, including art-making, workshop, and artist talk, will take place online. For further events, please see the museum’s website and SNS.

 

Resident Artist

Mulyana (Indonesia)

Mulyana was born in Bandung, Indonesia, 1984. The artist graduated from the Department of Arts Education at the Indonesia University of Education (UPI) in 2005. Using crochet knitting techniques, the artist creates colorful, soft-sculptural installations representing the marine ecosystem.

Activities

With the theme of the seas of Fukuoka and Indonesia, the artist will make an artwork through conducting online-based research. Along with online talks and workshops, the final exhibition is scheduled at the museum in the latter part of March.
