Krupa Makhija: Exhibition and Talk

Our resident artist, Krupa Makhija will be exhibiting the works she created in Fukuoka. The works include "Revisiting History and Identity" that is made of a set of stones and roof tiles embedded in books. An image from Fukuoka castle archival documents is transferred onto each stone.
Please experience the history of Fukuoka through the artist's eye.

[About the artist]
Krupa Makhija
Born in Gujarat, India, Makhija turns the disappearing cultures, histories, and memories into powerful and beautiful installation work materials found from the ruins. In Fukuoka, the artist is planning to create the work relating to the history of the city. She will also conduct workshops with the local school students.
