HOKUSAI –The Master of Ukiyo-e and His Disciples

Along with Hiroshige, Utamaro, and Sharaku, Kashitsuka Hokusai is a renowned Ukiyo-e painter of the late Edo period, who is famous for his most popular wood-cut prints, such as “Aka Fuji (Red Mount Fuji)” and “Nami Fuji (The Wave)” from the series of his “Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji.” Focusing on his various works, this time the exhibition also displays works created by his disciples.
