Silent Voices
■Period:11 December, 2014 - 24 March, 2015
■Venue:Asia Gallery A
Communication and understanding are just necessary for our human being in our social life. A voice is the most accessible tool for these communications, but however sometime our voice cannot reach to the others or even we cannot let it out under some social conditions.

For example, FX Harsono, an artist from Indonesia, expresses his irritation and dissatisfaction at the government, which turns a deaf ear to its own citizen, by finger alphabets “DEMOKRASI” or democracy in his piece. The last letter “I” bound by rope focuses the freedom of speech suppressed by the government.

Like this silent scream, this exhibition casts a spotlight on the disconnection in social dialogues through artworks dealing with voices.
