Modern Artist Ⅵ - Long Chinsan Photographs: Composite Tradition
■Period:13 October, 2011 - 13 December, 2011
■Venue:Asia Gallery B
The Modern Artist series focuses on artists and group that have contributed in shaping modern Asian art. This year's exhibition introduces works of Long Chinsan (1892-1995), a photographer who lived in Shanghai and Taipei. He developed the composite photo technique, in which he photographed landscapes, people and still-lifes before arranging them as a montage. In changing traditional Chinese art from painting into photography, he created utopian landscapes in which nature and humanity became one.
