Trajectory of Tang Da Wu, Once More: Singapore - Fukuoka

We are pleased to announce our special talk on a Singaporean artist, Tang Da Wu (born in 1943), who has been leading contemporary art scene of Singapore and Southeast Asia for many years. Fukuoka has a close link to Tang Da Wu since his first solo exhibition at Fukuoka Art Museum in 1991. Tang Da Wu also received Fukuoka Asian Cultural Prize in 1999.
As a part of this special event, we are now showing five works of Tang Da Wu and two video documentation of his performance in Fukuoka Art Museum in 1991 in Asia Gallery until 6 September. Please do not forget to stop by.

Ushiroshoji Masahiro (Professor, Faculty of Humanities, Kyushu University)

Professor Ushiroshoji will share how Tang Da Wu has been introduced to Fukuoka through his solo exhibition at Fukuoka Art Museum in 1991, Fukuoka Asian Cultural Prize, and six months residency at Fukuoka Asian Art Museum in 1999.

Ms Toh will share with us the early works of Tang Da Wu introduced in the exhibition "Earth Work 1979" held at National Gallery Singapore this year, and FAAM's Tang collections.
