"Rocket Festival" is essentially the old and important festival handed down among Lao tribe. It is to worship Buddha as well as to pray for rain and fertility. It is said to be a mixture of Buddhism and a native belief. In this painting, many men and women dance around a hut built for the festival. Hand-made rockets stuffed with gunpowder are launched to awake God. After studying art in Bulgaria, he has been making many traditionallandscape paintings of Laos.
