Lives and works in Thimpu (Bhutan)

In Bhutan where public art institutions are the only places for traditional art, VAST is the only NPO/ NGO that teaches painting to children and travels to remote villages to enact art events. In recent years they have exchanged their ideas with artists from other countries such as Bangladesh. Kama Wangdi is a painter and a leading artist of VAST since he has studied traditional painting.

Born in Paro (Bhutan), 1976
Lives and works in Paro (Bhutan)
He is a young artist in Paro who employs the techniques of traditional Buddhist paintings to combine Buddhist iconographies with images taken from Bhutanese landscapes, and daily life of people in Bhutan.
